01 The book

Fight to
the Death.

Human Stories from the
Assisted Dying Debate

A deeply human look at one of the most difficult questions of our time.

What does choice mean at the end of a life? And how do we understand the experiences of those who see that choice differently?

In Fight to the Death, Paul Brand explores assisted dying through the people it touches: individuals living with pain, families facing loss, and those wrestling with decisions that have no easy answers.

Moving between homes, hospitals and courtrooms, the book brings readers close to the personal experiences behind the public debate. It asks us to listen to the lives involved, and to consider the questions of love, autonomy and dignity that shape them.
